As a young man, I was privileged
to spend many years living and studying in Italy and performing throughout Europe. Italy
has had an enormous influence on my vocal and artistic development and upon my career as a
performer and teacher. My goal is to share the benefit of my years of research and
experience with artists in this inspiring countryside, an area so abundant in history and
culture. Our Vocal Program in Greve has been established to provide an opportunity to
study vocal technique as applied to the literature in the idyllic setting of Tuscany.
I believe the voice to be a unique musical instrument; when used
properly, it becomes rich, vibrant and flexible and allows the artist to express musical
and poetic values. My objective during this three-week program is to impart this
philosophy. I personally lead a full schedule of master classes with individual attention
to the singers. I am proud that the program is enhanced by an international faculty and
staff, who share my philosophy and who are dedicated to sharing their own knowledge and
experience.
